Tango is a computer platform by Google that enables smartphone augmented reality (AR), connecting the virtual reality (VR) to the real world. Tango tracks motion, depth perception, and learns the smartphone?s environment to execute AR gaming and utilities flawlessly.

Daydream, on the other hand, is a virtual reality software responsible for combining physical spaces and a user?s presence in the virtual world.

Through the Asus TriCam system ? a three-camera setup ? motion tracking and depth-sensing are easily done by the 23-megapixel PixelMaster 3.0 main camera and a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon.

The motion-tracking camera senses the location as it moves through the three-dimensional space, while depth-sensing determines the distance from objects by projecting an infrared laser and measuring the amount of time it takes for IR light to travel.

The Asus Zenfone AR can store 128GB worth of memory inside this 5.7-inch body, too. It projects WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution on a Super AMOLED screen, enhancing image quality and 3D effects.

Asus also installed SonicMaster 3.0 technology to the Zenfone AR, a five-magnet speaker to deliver High-Resolution Audio (HRA) to compatible devices. It sticks to the elegant look by wearing a leather-patterned rear surface combined with a precision-milled metal frame and a slim 4.6mm edge.

Prior to the presentation of the Zenfone AR, Asus Philippines held a hackathon ? an app development competition for the AR/VR experience. Participants had been developing software to maximize the handset’s most prominent features. First placers have won an all-access pass to official Google events worldwide.

The Asus Zenfone AR will be out in July 2017 with P44,995 price tag.
