Acer unit debuts in PH, offers cheap monitors to local gamers

Tech firm AOPEN, which was recently acquired by computer maker Acer, has made its official launch in the Philippines.

AOPEN produces smart product solutions for on-premises and cloud computing which include smart kiosks, machine vision and data capture, and digital signages.

AOPEN said its cost-friendly monitors are specifically targeted at gaming enthusiasts who are just starting to dip their toes in professional or high-level competitive gaming.

“We don’t just offer the display, we want to offer an ecosystem in the market. For AOPEN, we will offer the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and one interesting thing, the lightbar. For all these devices, we will have lighting effects inside. In the future we will have more interesting gadgets, that together, will build up this ecosystem,” said Ken Wang, assistant vice president of Acer.

For the consumer entry level displays, AOPEN offers the CH1 and CX1 series. The CH1 series offers a Full HD display at 1920×1080 resolution, 5ms response time, and is priced at P3,800 for the 19.5″ model and P4,650 for the 21.5″ one.

The CX1 series also offers 1080p resolution FHD with 5ms response time priced at P3,400 for the 18.5″ display.

For the gaming entry level, on the other hand, AOPEN offers the ML1 and the MX1 series. The ML1 series features a WQHD resolution, AMD Radeon Freesync Technology, 1ms response time at a 75Hz refresh rate, a Zero Frame design, and protects the user with BlueLightShield and Flicker-less technology to reduce fatigue. The 27″ variant is priced at P14,999 while the 23.8″ variant costs P8,499.

The MX1 series offers a WQHD resolution, AMD Freesync Technology, 1ms response time, and a similar eye protection capability priced for P7,999 for the 24″ model and P6,499 for the 21.5″ variant.

Lastly, the gaming mainstream level displays from the HC1 series will be featuring curved screens at FHD 1080p resolution, frame-less design, 178? wide viewing angle, 144Hz refresh rate, AMD Radeon Freesync Technology and BlueLightShield. The HC1 series is priced at P23,499 and P15,999 for the 31.5″ and 27″ models respectively.
