The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has set Sept. 30 as the deadline for online merchants, e-retailers, e-marketplaces, and digital platforms to register for the E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark (Trustmark), a digital badge aimed at strengthening consumer confidence in online transactions.
The mandatory registration is outlined under Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 25-12, Series of 2025, issued on September 4, in line with the Internet Transactions Act of 2023 (RA 11967).
The Trustmark serves as a seal of legitimacy for businesses engaged in e-commerce and requires them to comply with regulatory standards such as full business disclosure, consumer data protection, and the creation of an internal mechanism for addressing complaints.
The move comes as DTI reported over 13,000 complaints related to online transactions from January to August this year, reflecting rising consumer concerns in the digital marketplace.
As of Sept. 8, several major companies have already secured their Trustmark, including Shopee Philippines, Bytedance Philippines (TikTok Shop), Lalamove Philippines, and LG Electronics Philippines.
Other early registrants include Asahi Electrical Manufacturing Corp. (Asahi), Cherenz Global Mfg. (ToughMama), Concepcion Midea (Midea), Concepcion Carrier Air Conditioning Co. (Carrier), First Digital Finance (Billease), Mailtag Ortigas Corp. (DHL Express), Pan-Eurasia Sales Marketing Corp. (Dowell, Edamama, Tefal), QuadX (Gogo Xpress, ShippingCart), and Tosot Philippines Corp. (Tosot).
To apply, businesses must submit an online application via trustmark.dti.gov.ph along with required documents, including SEC or CDA registration, BIR Certificate of Registration (Form 2303), valid government-issued ID, and relevant business permits.
For inquiries, DTI advised applicants to reach out through [email protected] or call (+632) 7791-3282.
