MVP extends term of Manaloto, Garrovillo as co-OICs of Smart

Smart and PLDT chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan has extended the designations of Lloyd Dennis R. Manaloto and Marjorie C. Garrovillo as co-officers-in-charge (OICs) of Smart Communications, according to an internal memorandum released on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

In the memo addressed to all officers and executives, Pangilinan approved the extension, following his initial announcement last Sept. 8. He also called on employees to continue supporting the two executives as they lead Smart’s wireless operations.

The extension ensures continuity in the company’s leadership while chief operations officer Anastacio “Boy” Martirez remains on leave.

Manaloto, Smart first vice president for strategy and corporate brand, and Garrovillo, first vice president for marketing, brand head, and sales and development head, have been sharing oversight of the wireless business since their initial appointments last month.

Business news website InsiderPH was the first to report on the designation of the two executives as co-OICs of Smart last Sept. 12.
