Japanese wellness brand Karada is strengthening its presence in the Philippines through its proprietary AP Balance therapy, a data-driven body-alignment system that integrates biomechanics, anatomy, and posture correction into non-invasive treatment.
Launched locally in 2012, Karada applies a technology-based approach rooted in chiropractic, osteopathic, and deep-muscle therapy principles.
Its signature AP Balance method realigns the Atlas (neck) and Pelvis to restore body symmetry — an approach designed to address pain, fatigue, and posture-related dysfunctions through calibrated manual adjustments rather than medication or surgery.
According to Hanna Stelton, general manager of Karada Philippines, the therapy functions as “preventive body maintenance,” particularly useful for workers in sedentary or high-stress environments.
The process begins with digital posture assessment and physical mapping, followed by guided manipulation using Karada’s proprietary body-support equipment engineered to optimize therapist precision and pressure distribution.
All Karada therapists undergo certification under Sensei Hiroaki Naruse and Iku Sumiya, who lead the Japanese-standard training program covering human physiology, musculoskeletal diagnostics, and AP Balance techniques.
Trainees must pass written and practical evaluations aligned with global wellness-technology benchmarks before certification.
The therapy combines skull and spine adjustments with algorithmic stretching patterns and dry-massage techniques to promote circulation and muscular balance.
The treatment process is assisted by custom ergonomic beds designed to allow multi-angle adjustments for spine and limb mobilization.
Karada is expanding its service lineup with stretch-based rehabilitation programs, the KX Plus comprehensive wellness package, and KOGAO facial-contouring therapy, which merge physical manipulation with data-driven posture and lifestyle analytics.
