DigiPlus buying New Coast Hotel Manila to open own real casino

DigiPlus Interactive Corp., the company behind online gambling sites BingoPlus and ArenaPlus, is planning to buy the New Coast Hotel Manila so it can have its own real, physical casino — not just online games.

The company signed a deal worth HK$1.6 billion (about ₱12 billion) to take control of International Entertainment Corporation (IEC), the owner of the hotel.

If the deal is completed and DigiPlus converts its investment into shares, it will own more than half of IEC and become the new main owner of New Coast Hotel Manila.

New Coast Hotel Manila is a five-star hotel on Roxas Boulevard. It has 203 rooms, many slot machines, and dozens of gaming tables.

The hotel and casino are being renovated, with the casino expected to finish in January 2026 and the hotel by late 2026.

DigiPlus says buying the hotel will help it combine its online games with real-life entertainment. The company wants people to play both online and in person, all under one big entertainment system.

The move comes at a time when DigiPlus is making changes to its business. Last month, it paused the launch of its new online gaming platform in Brazil so it could improve the product before trying again in early 2026.

In the Philippines, some lawmakers are also calling for stricter rules on online gambling, which could affect DigiPlus and other gaming companies.

Because of these changes, observers said having a real casino could help DigiPlus stay strong even if rules for online gaming become tighter.
