The Zamboanga center is the ninth AMCen nationwide and the first in the peninsula. It is equipped with advanced 3D printing technology for rapid prototyping, initially using plastics, with plans to expand into metal-based applications in partnership with DOST-MIRDC’s central office in Taguig City.
The Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCen), located at the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) San Pablo Campus, aims to strengthen regional development and boost the competitiveness of Calabarzon’s manufacturing sector through additive manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing.
The unveiling was made to coincide with the 125th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal -- the reason why the 3D statue is also 12.5 feet in height.
The Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCEN), which is located at the DOST compound in Taguig City, is a state-of-the-art prototyping laboratory that will offer industrial design and development and rapid prototyping.
