Chipmaker AMD unveiled on Thursday, Nov. 3, its latest graphics cards – the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT – drawing raves from tech analysts and journalists all over the globe who gathered at the ResortsWorld Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas to witness its launch.
Chipmaker AMD recently announced that its high-performance computing (HPC) technology is behind the Frontier system developed by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) which achieved a score of 1.1 exaflops.
The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor is the first Ryzen processor to feature AMD 3D V-Cache technology that delivers 15% more gaming performance compared to processors without stacked cache technology, making it one of the world’s most advanced desktop gaming processor.
Semiconductor maker AMD will be showcasing its new developments on the AMD EPYC processors and AMD Instinct accelerators on November 8, during a livestreamed event entitled “Accelerated Data Center Premiere.” This event will also be available for replay after its conclusion.
Accomplishing this ambitious goal will require AMD to increase the energy efficiency of a compute node at a rate that is more than 2.5x faster than the aggregate industry-wide improvement made during the last five years.
Similar to the AMD Radeon RX 6000 graphics card series, the Radeon Pro W6000 series is built on the brand’s RDNA 2 architecture that brings up to 65% more performance per watt over previous generation RDNA.
Chipmaker AMD has announced that its record-breaking x86 server GPU was able to surpass the 10 teraflops (FP64) performance barrier, and is expected to be available by the end of 2020.
AMD president and CEO Lisa Su showed a teaser regarding the new Zen 3 technology and how it will be an “an exciting fall for gamers”. On October 9, AMD will be presenting the new Ryzen 4000 desktop CPUs powered by Zen 3 in the Philippines. AMD also scheduled the reveal for the RDNA 2-backed RX 6000 series graphics cards on October 29.
