The Department of Education (DepEd) said it is targeting to increase the utilization of TV and radio-based materials to further support the implementation of blended learning for School Year 2021-2022.
The agency said learners did not drop out from school, but merely shifted from one mode of learning to another or migrated from one geographical location to another.
The technical-vocational training institution has updated its curriculum, combining online teaching and face-to-face instruction for hands-on learning.
Under Section 4 of Bayanihan 2, the use of the SEF will be allowed to support alternative learning modalities, digital education and infrastructure, the purchase of equipment, materials, and supplies, including the printing and delivery of self-learning modules.
With P9-billion funding provided to schools division offices, the DepEd noted self-learning modules are continuously being reproduced in field offices.
The DepEd announced on Sunday, July 5, that it has secured the backing of the NTC to support television and radio-based learning delivery for the upcoming school year.
Sen. Risa Hontiveros questioned DepEd's proposal to have teachers enter into loans with GSIS for laptops worth P20,000 or less. The payment of these loans will be debited from the teachers' salaries.
