DTI secretary Fred Pascual said the Philippines now has two fintech startups that have achieved “unicorn” status – a startup valued at over $1 billion – e-wallet firms Mynt (GCash) and Voyager Innovations (Maya).
Because of the increase in complaints on online transactions, the Department of Trade and Industry said it is pushing to have a provision on e-commerce trust mark under the proposed Internet Transaction Act.
