Pres. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Dr. Gay Jane P. Perez as director general of the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), making her the agency’s second chief after its founding head, Joel Joseph Marciano Jr.
Dr. Gay Jane P. Perez, a physicist and researcher with extensive experience in satellite data applications, earned her doctorate in Physics from the University of the Philippines Diliman and later conducted postdoctoral research at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.
Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) deputy director general for space science and technology Gay Jane P. Perez has been elected president of the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) Technical Commission on Education and Outreach -- a first for the Philippines.
