The Department of Justice has recommended for the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to penalize ISPs for failing to fulfill their duties under Republic Act No. 9775 or the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009.
At a virtual hearing conducted by the House ICT committee on Friday, Nov. 27, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) sought the help of Congress to require gated subdivisions to provide utility areas for telco infrastructure such as cell towers.
The local telcos were ordered to provide the NTC every six hours with updates on restoration activities of their respective networks and facilities, as well as a timeline for the full restoration of services.
