In an effort to curb rising global battery-related incidents in portable power banks, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said it is adopting a global safety standard for portable power banks that will serve as the Philippine National Standard (PNS) by August 2025.
The government issued a statement on Monday, Nov. 29, reminding e-commerce platforms to ensure that all products under the DTI mandatory certification that are offered for sale in their sites should bear the Philippine Standard (PS) mark or the Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) sticker.
