The regional office of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in Panay recently launched the Mobile Revenue Collection Officers System (MRCOS) to collect taxes faster and more efficiently.
Marivic Tulio, BIR-Regional Office 11 Collection Division chief, said the MRCOS is capable of issuing mobile receipts for tax payments, generating collection reports, and reconciling tax collections and tax returns.
Tuilo said the mobile system is comprised of a wireless device that is connected to the Internet, and a handy printer which will allow the printing of receipt upon payment of taxes.
?MRCOS acts like a cash register machine, in which receipts are no longer given manually but are already generated in the system,? Tulio said.
She said MRCOS is also capable of providing real-time reports of the payment received by the Revenue Collection Officer (RCO).
?The transactions made using the MRCOS will be reflected at the office of the regional director, revenue district officer, commissioner, and the collection service,? said Tulio.
The ceremonial demonstration of the MRCOS was held on March 8, simultaneously with the 2013 tax campaign kick-off with the theme ?I Love the Philippines, I Pay Taxes Correctly.? — Leonard T. Pineda, PIA-Iloilo
