Gaming faithful flocks to e-sports confab

Thousands of gamers from all over the country trooped to the World Trade Center in Pasay City on Saturday, July 6, to participate in Level Up Live 2013.

Now on its eighth year, Level Up Live still sets the standard for online gaming events, as it treated the online gaming community to its biggest party yet.

The venue was wall-to-wall with online gaming tournaments, with nine national crowns at stake.

The culminating finals for Ragnarok Philippine Championships, RAN ?RANbulan?, Cabal Champions of Nevareth, Grand Chase Digmaan, Eligium Galgaron Battle Arena, Point Blank National Bakbakan, Perfect World Phoenix Council Wars, Rohan Bloodwars and Assault Fire Live Masters Cup were fought over by the best online gaming warriors.

The last teams standing won cash prizes, rare in-game items, and the bragging rights that come with being a champion at Level Up Live. A total of over P1,000,000 in cash prizes was given away to the champions and runners-up.

A first for Level Up Live was the Level Up Live Grand Prix, a series of all-day online game tournaments where hundreds of competitive gamers were also given a taste of what it?s like to compete in an event like Level Up Live.

The winners went home with a minor tournament crown and exclusive in-game items for their teams.

Level Up Live also celebrated real-world beauty and talents. The crowd was wowed with costumes during the Cosplay and Headgear competitions, and fans cheered for the fairest maidens of gaming at the Ms. Level Up Live 2013 pageant.

Karen Bordador, ranked 95th in FHM?s 100 Sexiest Women, and Rhianna Floresca, winner of Animax?s Ani-mate competition, also graced the event.

The online gaming party of the year was kept rockin? with performances by Arci Mu?oz and her band Philia and legendary Pinoy rock band Razorback who closed the show with an explosive performance.
