Accenture tech hub in PH gets CMMI Level 5 rating

IT outsourcing giant Accenture has announced that its Global Delivery Network (GDN) for Technology in the Philippines has achieved a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 5 rating in both CMMI for Development v1.3 and CMMI for Services v1.3.

The appraisal was performed by KPMG, one of the world?s largest professional services and auditing companies.

CMMI is a process improvement model that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.

An appraisal at maturity level 5 indicates that the organization is performing at an ?optimizing? level. At this level, an organization continually improves its processes based on a quantitative understanding of its business objectives and performance needs. The organization uses a quantitative approach to understand the variation inherent in the process and the causes of process outcomes.

This location is the first in Accenture?s Global Delivery Network to achieve a CMMI Level 5 rating for both development and services in one appraisal.

Ambe Tierro, Accenture technology lead in the Philippines and South Korea, explained that the benefits of achieving CMMI Level 5 are significant because it means the company is able to decrease costs, improve on-time delivery, improve productivity, improve quality, and improve customer satisfaction.

?It is also a reflection of our commitment to delivering world-class technology services to our clients and enabling them to become high performance businesses,? Tierro said.
