New Hollywood flicks now accessible to PLDT Home subs

Subscribers to PLDT Home?s Fibr, myDSL, and Telpad offerings can now watch some of this year?s biggest films such as Man of Steel, The Great Gatsby, and After Earth.

Starting this December, new Hollywood summer offerings such as Pacific Rim and the Matt Damon-starrer Elysium will also be available.

The new blockbuster movies are streamed to subscribers via Clickplay, the country?s first movies-on-demand service.

Launched early this year, the PLDT Home-Clickplay partnership gives subscribers of Fibr, myDSL, and Telpad access to over 200 movies like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Dark Knight, The Matrix, and Inception.

Subscribers of Fibr, Home?s broadband fiber-optic service, can stream up to 20 free movies per month. Subscribers of home broadband myDSL, and Telpad, the world?s first landline and tablet in one, can stream up to three free movies per month.

?Subscribers now want compelling content, and this is what we?re giving them through this movies-on-demand service that is bundled with our broadband packages,? said EVP and head of PLDT Home business Ariel Fermin.

PLDT Home is able to deliver video content to its customers across its broadband network due to its fiber advantage. This year, the PLDT group invested P2.5 billion to expand its fiber network, which will span 71,000 kilometers by the end of the year, making it the most extensive fiber facility in the country.

PLDT Home says it leads the local home broadband market with a dominant 70-percent market share. The number of total subscribers reached over 1.3 million in June 2013, it said.
