Ten young Pinoy math wizards lauded

Aiming to raise the status of mathematicians in the Filipino society, Sharp Calculators through Collins International Trading recently awarded the Ten Outstanding Young Mathematicians (TOYM) in Metro Manila.

Sharpest Ten. Ten veterans of local and international mathematics competitions from the national capital region comprise the Ten Outstanding Young Mathematicians (TOYM) awarded by Sharp Calculators Philippines under its Sharp Minds Program. The TOYM Awards is done in partnership with DOST-SEI, DepEd-NCR, MTG, MathTEd, and MSP.

The TOYM Awards is done in partnership with DOST-SEI, DepEd-NCR, MTG, MathTEd, and MSP.

In a ceremony held at the SM Aura Premier, Sharp Calculators along with its partners honored 10 multi-medalists in local and international mathematics competitions who came from the National Capital Region.

The TOYM Award was launched last year under the Sharp Minds Program, an advocacy that seeks to promote the development of science and mathematics culture among the Filipino Youth.

Headlining the list of awardees are finalists in the 17th Philippine Mathematical Olympiad and members of the national contingent to the 55th International Mathematical Olympiad:

2.Kyle Patric Dulay ? Philippine Science High School Main ? Campus
3.Andrea Jessica Jaba ? St. Jude Catholic School
4.Shaquille Wyan Que ? Grace Christian College
5.Kelsey Lim Tiong Soon ? Grace Christian College
6.Adrian Reginald Sy ? St. Jude Catholic School
7.Isabella Mae Tan ? St. Jude Catholic School
8.Gen Mark Tanno ? Southville International School
9.Farrell Eldrian Wu ? MGC New Life Christian Academy
10.Sedrick Scott ? Xavier School

The TOYM Awards is done in partnership with DOST-SEI, Department of Education ? NCR, Mathematics Trainers? Guild of the Philippines, Mathematical Society of the Philippines, and the Philippine Council of Mathematics Educators, Inc.
