Lenovo Philippines has formally announced the imminent arrival of the Star Wars special edition Yoga 920 laptop and Lenovo Mirage augmented reality (AR) bundle in City of Dreams, Para?aque City.
Star Wars: Jedi Challenges
Lenovo and Disney’s “Jedi Challenges” is an augmented reality app that lets users play?Star Wars games through a smartphone-powered Lenovo Mirage AR headset, which includes a Tracking Beacon and Lightsaber controller.
The product is compatible with both Android phones and iPhones.
?With Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, Lenovo and Disney are bringing Star Wars to fans in ways they could previously only imagine,? said Jeff Meredith, senior vice president and general manager of Lenovo Consumer PCs and Smart Devices.
?Augmented Reality has always been an important part of Star Wars, and it?s exciting to bring these key moments to life by marrying Lenovo technology with Disney?s storytelling.?
Users shall download the “Star Wars😕Jedi Challenges” app?onto their phone and slide the handset into the Lenovo Mirage AR headset. The Tacking Beacon should be placed on the floor to act as a stable base for the headset?s sensors and detect the user?s movement during gameplay.
Equipped with two built-in fish-eye sensors, the headset allows free and natural motion for the player to move around as they duel opponents or direct their forces and pieces across the battlefield.
The headset also comes with a Lightsaber controller modeled after the one wielded by Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, and Rey. It acts as a controller and pointer allowing players to navigate the user interface.
Jedi Challenges will?introduce the Archivist, an all-new?Star Wars?character, who will teach players the “ways of the Force.” Throughout the challenges, users will train to perfect their lightsaber skills for a?duel against Kylo Ren and Darth Vader.
In addition, users can also play Holochess ? one of the most iconic features from the film ? by?directing their holographic alien pieces across the board to wrestle for territory and control.
?We believe augmented reality will usher in a new era of storytelling and play an important role in the experiences we create for our fans,? said Kyle Laughlin, senior vice president for games and interactive experiences at Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media.
?With Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, we?re bringing together the latest technology and one of the most recognized franchises in the galaxy to fulfill the wishes of anyone who?s ever wanted to wield a lightsaber or take on the empire forces on the battlefield.?
“Star Wars😕Jedi Challenges” set is priced at P14,999 and is now up for pre-order at select Toy Kingdom branches. It will hit the stores by December.
