Losing a pet dog or cat is probably the most traumatic thing that can happen to a pet owner or, as they are often called these days, a fur parent.
Although these furry animals are smart and possess a strong sense of smell that can help them navigate their way home, there is no guarantee that they will succeed.
Other factors can prevent it such as road accidents, another lost cat or two who befriend them into joining their pack, a well-intentioned animal rescue group who catches them and brings them to the pound, and worst of all, hungry “tambays” who still think of these beloved animals as a food source.
Minimizing, if not eliminating, these anxieties and accelerating the recovery of a lost pet is Pawnec’s wearable digital pet identification system which is comprised of multi-layers of connectivity: smart profile, location intelligence, alert system, data security, and VIP treatment.
To activate the Pawnec digital ID, the pet parent scans it with his smartphone. He then creates a pet profile in the Pawnec system which then records the pet’s current GPS location, IP address, date, and time.

Digital ID
Should the pet get lost, the one who first finds him will naturally check the digital ID. However, instead of just showing the pet’s name, the digital ID will reconnect the finder with the pet parent. They then communicate and set up ways how to return the lost pet to its rightful owner.
The minimum requirements to transmit GPS data remotely from one apparatus to another are a power source (battery), cellular signal (SIM card), and the mechanical components of a GPS receiver.
A finder’s smartphone scanning the pet’s digital ID has these three requirements which can easily be transmitted back to Pawnec’s cloud server. That location data from Pawnec’s cloud servers is then fed to the pet parent’s account.
What sets Pawnec’s digital ID above the usual GPS tracker is that it connects both the pet parent and the potential pet finder in the Pawnec community.
Activating it only for that reason and the eventual search process later maximizes the phone’s battery life and prevents the escalation of telecom costs.
