BPO operator TaskUs has opened a new operations site called “Hiraya” in Las Piñas City, expanding its presence in the Philippines and addressing growing demand for outsourced digital services.
The site, named after the Filipino word meaning the fulfillment of hopes and dreams, is designed as a flexible, multilingual operations center.
It currently employs about 700 people, with plans to reach 1,500 by the end of 2025.
Employees at Hiraya will provide support across various functions including customer service, sales, technical support, non-voice operations, and content moderation.
According to Dean Van Ormer, senior vice president for Southeast Asia at TaskUs, the decision to establish the site in Las Piñas was guided by the company’s “People-First” approach.
“Eighty percent of our Alabang-area teammates live in or near the city. With its accessibility and the development of the LRT-1 extension, this site will reduce commute times while creating more local job opportunities,” Van Ormer said.
Vice president of operations Al Sese said the site’s Filipino-inspired design combines traditional elements with modern amenities such as a daycare center, rooms for new mothers, a 24/7 clinic, wellness and resiliency spaces, a gym, and a cafeteria.
TaskUs began operations in the Philippines in 2008 with a small office in Cavite. Seventeen years later, the country remains its largest operations hub, employing more than 35,000 people across 11 sites.
