OpenAI has begun rolling out an upgraded version of ChatGPT Images to users in the Philippines, introducing faster image generation, more precise editing, and a redesigned visual experience inside the app.
The update is now available to all ChatGPT users in the country across all subscription tiers — Free, Plus, and Pro — reflecting the growing role of image generation among Filipino users.
OpenAI said image creation is already among the top 10 ways people in the Philippines use ChatGPT.
Powered by OpenAI’s most advanced image model to date, the new ChatGPT Images delivers up to four times faster generation speeds and significantly improved instruction-following, allowing users to make targeted edits without altering unintended parts of an image.
According to OpenAI, the enhanced editing capability enables ChatGPT to change only what a user specifies while preserving critical details such as facial likeness, lighting, composition, and color tone — features expected to benefit local creators, marketers, educators, and small businesses that rely on visual content.
The update also introduces a guided image creation experience within ChatGPT. Filipino users will now see suggested prompts, preset styles, and trending visual ideas directly in the Images section of the sidebar, lowering the barrier to image creation and reducing the need for technical prompt writing.
OpenAI said the same image model will also be accessible to developers through its API under the name gpt-image-1.5, enabling Philippine-based startups and developers to integrate advanced image generation into their own applications and services.
To experience ChatGPT Images, users can head to the left sidebar in ChatGPT and tap “Images”.
