Ford Mustang Mach-E tops EV ownership study

The all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E ranked highest in owner satisfaction in the J.D. Power 2026 US Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Ownership Study, reflecting strong feedback from drivers after their first year of use.

The Mach-E scored 760 points on a 1,000-point scale, ahead of other battery electric vehicles included in the study such as the Hyundai IONIQ 6 (748) and Kia EV9 (745).

The EVX Ownership Study evaluates the real-world ownership experience of electric-vehicle users, including driving enjoyment, range accuracy, charging convenience, cost of ownership, quality and reliability, and how well manufacturers prepare customers for the transition to electric mobility.

Ford said the results highlight the growing importance of usability and customer education as EV adoption increases globally, with satisfaction shaped not only by performance but by how easily vehicles integrate into daily routines.

“A recognition like this matters because it reflects what owners feel every day — how confident they are behind the wheel, how easy the vehicle is to live with, and how seamless the overall experience is,” said Pedro Simoes, president and managing director of Ford Philippines.

The Mustang Mach-E is Ford’s fully electric SUV, designed to translate the Mustang brand’s performance identity into a zero-emissions platform while offering a larger cabin and digital connectivity features aimed at everyday use.

Industry studies such as the EVX survey increasingly focus on ownership experience as automakers compete to address practical concerns — particularly charging access, operating costs, and ease of adoption — that remain key barriers to wider EV uptake.
