Epson Philippines recently participated in a tree-nurturing activity at the Legacy Trail of the Masungi Georeserve in Rizal, highlighting its ongoing environmental initiatives.
Masungi Georeserve, located within the Sierra Madre mountain range, plays a key role in protecting Luzon from severe weather, preserving biodiversity, and supporting nearby communities.
Restoration efforts in the area focus not only on planting trees but also on nurturing them through continuous monitoring and care to improve survival rates and promote long-term forest regeneration.
During the activity, Epson representatives joined Masungi rangers in learning practical reforestation techniques and assisting in tree nurturing tasks along the Legacy Trail, which emphasizes the importance of sustained stewardship in environmental conservation.
Masako Kusama, president and director of Epson Philippines, said the activity reflects the company’s broader sustainability approach.
“Tree nurturing reminds us that progress requires patience and responsibility,” Kusama said. “Through the Engineered for Good campaign, we remain committed to actions that create lasting value. We believe that building a legacy means continuing the work long after the moment has passed.”
The Legacy Trail was designed to encourage visitors to carry forward lessons from the experience and continue supporting conservation efforts beyond the visit.

Participants in the activity also received commemorative caps from New Era Cap Philippines made using REPREVE recycled fiber, a textile produced from post-consumer plastic materials.
According to organizers, the caps symbolize responsible production and the broader goal of promoting environmental sustainability.
Epson said its participation in the Masungi activity forms part of its long-term efforts to support environmental initiatives in the Philippines.
