Singapore AR mobile game ‘Go, Operative! launches in PH

A Singapore-developed mobile game that combines augmented reality (AR) with outdoor exploration has officially launched in the Philippines, offering players a way to turn real-world locations into interactive spy missions.

Called “Go, Operative!”, the game is now available for free download on the Apple App Store and Google Play, with optional in-game purchases.

The title uses real-time location technology and AR to transform neighborhoods, parks, and city streets into virtual mission environments where players complete tasks and solve puzzles.

According to developer and founder Miguel Bernas, the game was designed partly to address concerns about excessive screen time among younger users.

“Generation Alpha — kids born after 2010 — are known to be addicted to their screens and as a result do less outdoor activity and sports, much to the frustration of parents,” Bernas said.

“We wanted to make a game that encourages parents and kids to play outdoors through a medium they already know and love: the mobile game.”

In the game, players take on the role of secret agents tasked with stopping fictional crime syndicates and corporations. Guided by a virtual “Operator,” players progress through story-driven missions that involve code-breaking, puzzle-solving, and avoiding enemies.

The game can be played anywhere globally and offers two main modes: Mission Mode, which provides structured objectives, and Free Roam Mode, which allows players to explore freely. Multiplayer and cooperative features are also available, enabling players to complete missions together.

Players earn in-game rewards such as REP, which unlocks abilities, and CREDS, which can be used to purchase items like avatars and modifiers.

The game also offers optional purchases through a premium currency called PRX, which can unlock cosmetic items, additional story missions, and voice packs.

Developers said the game includes family-focused features such as Family Accounts, allowing parents to manage purchases, control content, and monitor their children’s activity.

The developers are also offering early-access players a special reward, including an exclusive Operative character skin.
