A Philippine-built online platform is using artificial intelligence and student performance data to personalize preparation for college entrance examinations.
ExamPrepPro allows students to take assessments, review their results, receive explanations, and identify subjects or topics that require more attention. The platform was developed by Delivering Data Analytics Philippines (DDAPH).
Unlike conventional reviewers that provide the same material to all users, ExamPrepPro adjusts its recommendations based on a student’s assessment results. Its developers said the system is AI-assisted but subject to human review and oversight.
“Many students are studying very hard, but they may still be reviewing blindly,” said Nicholas Kelly, CEO of DDAPH.
“They answer hundreds of questions and go through different reviewers, but still may not know where they actually stand or what they should focus on next. Our goal is to give students greater clarity. Know where you stand, understand what still needs work, and use the time you have more purposefully,” Kelly added.
The platform is intended to supplement, rather than replace, schools, teachers, books, and traditional review centers. Students who perform well in one subject, for example, may be directed to devote more time to areas where their assessment results are weaker.
“Every student is different,” Kelly said. “A traditional reviewer usually gives the same material to everyone. With ExamPrepPro, the student’s own performance helps guide what they should focus on next.”
ExamPrepPro uses AI to support assessments, explanations, practice exercises, and personalized study recommendations. Kelly said the technology’s role goes beyond generating additional test questions.
“We do not believe the value of AI is simply in producing more questions,” Kelly said. “The real value is whether technology can help a student understand what the results mean and what to do next.”
According to the company, the platform grew out of an effort to help a student determine which subjects to prioritize while preparing for entrance examinations.
“What started as an effort to help one student became a much bigger question for us,” Kelly said. “How many other students are studying hard but still do not know where they stand? And how many families simply cannot afford every review center, tutor, book, or other preparation resource available?”
ExamPrepPro offers free initial access, while paid plans provide additional preparation tools and features.
“Talent is everywhere, but access to preparation is not. We want more students to have the opportunity to understand where they stand and what they still need to work on, regardless of where they live or what their families can afford,” Kelly said.
