UK-based inspection technology company Vision Engineering has established a representative office in General Trias City, Cavite, as it seeks to serve manufacturers in the country’s electronics, semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, precision engineering and medical device industries.
The company also launched a localized website as part of the expansion, which is focused on manufacturing clusters in Calabarzon and Cebu.
Vision Engineering supplies optical and digital systems used for quality control and non-contact measurement. Its products include the Mantis and Lynx EVO eyepiece-less stereo microscopes and the ProteQ VISO digital 3D inspection system.
The company said the systems are designed to reduce eye strain and physical fatigue among workers performing prolonged visual inspections. They can be used to examine printed circuit boards, medical devices and machined automotive or aerospace components.
“While the Philippine manufacturing sector is growing, it continues to experience broadly low technology utilization,” said Phillip Townend, group marketing communications manager at Vision Engineering.
He added, “Our intuitive systems act as an accessible bridge, allowing local facilities to upgrade to world-class quality control without requiring intimidating, highly complex software retraining. Furthermore, our screen-based, collaborative inspection systems are highly appealing to a digitally native generation of engineers and operators, aiding in staff retention and upskilling.”
The Cavite office will provide application consultations and local support for companies already using Vision Engineering’s optical inspection equipment.
For electronics manufacturers, the company is offering systems such as the Lynx EVO for high-volume printed circuit board inspection. Its LVC and Swift PRO Edge systems provide traceable measurements for medical device production, while the ProteQ VISO generates high-definition 3D views of complex components used in the automotive and aerospace sectors.
Founded in 1958, Vision Engineering is headquartered in Woking, Surrey, in the United Kingdom. It operates manufacturing facilities in the UK and the US, along with sales and technical support offices in North America, Europe and Asia.
