Cross-border remittance company Western Union has partnered with Philippine financial services provider JuanPay to offer international money transfers through about 1,400 outlets nationwide.
Customers can send and receive money through participating JuanPay locations, which also provide bill payments, loan processing, government transactions, and pharmacy services.
The initial rollout will cover priority locations from JuanPay’s network of 2,000 outlets. The companies said they plan to expand the service to additional locations across the country.
The partnership is aimed particularly at overseas Filipino workers and their families who prefer or require in-person assistance, including customers in communities with limited digital connectivity.
Western Union operates a network covering more than 200 countries and territories, while JuanPay maintains outlets in local communities across the Philippines.
“Our collaboration with Western Union brings together global connectivity and JuanPay’s community-based approach to access, ultimately making trusted financial services more accessible for every Juan,” said Rico Fernando Chico, chairman of ACM Group of Companies.
Western Union senior vice president and head of Asia-Pacific Vince Tallent said physical multi-service locations remain important for customers seeking face-to-face assistance.
