POCO has launched the F9 Ultra and F9 Pro smartphones, equipping both models with high-refresh-rate AMOLED displays, a dual-chip architecture, and a 200-megapixel main camera system.
The POCO F9 Series is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform and a separate VisionBoost D8 chipset for graphics processing. POCO said the configuration recorded an AnTuTu benchmark score of 4,165,108, its highest to date.
The VisionBoost D8 supports gaming frame rates of up to 185 frames per second, while the company’s WildBoost Engine manages graphics and gameplay performance. Both phones also offer a 4,800Hz instant touch-sampling rate.
The F9 Ultra has a 6.9-inch display, while the F9 Pro comes with a smaller 6.59-inch screen. Both use 185Hz POCO HyperRGB AMOLED panels with M11 luminescent material, rated for peak brightness of 4,500 nits in certain conditions and up to 10,000 nits when displaying HDR content.
For imaging, both models carry a 200-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization. The F9 Ultra adds a 5x periscope telephoto camera, 10x lossless zoom, and 20x AI Ultra Zoom. The F9 Pro instead features a 50-megapixel floating telephoto camera for close-up photography.
The phones also feature audio systems developed in partnership with Sound by Bose. The F9 Ultra uses two 1115D stereo speakers and an independent 1620 subwoofer, while the F9 Pro is fitted with two 1115F super-linear stereo speakers.
The F9 Ultra houses an 8,050mAh battery, compared with the F9 Pro’s 6,330mAh unit. Both models support 100-watt wired HyperCharge and 50-watt wireless charging. The Ultra is available with storage of up to 1TB.
The POCO F9 Pro starts at P49,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration, with an introductory price of P33,999. The similarly configured F9 Ultra is priced at P55,999, with an introductory price of P45,999.
The promotional prices are available from Sept. 1 to 16. Purchases during the period come with Redmi Buds 8 Active, a two-year warranty, and up to six months of screen-replacement coverage.
