The National Privacy Commission (NPC) has found three online lending firms -- Fast Cash Global Lending, Unipeso Lending Company, and Fynamics Lending -- liable for violations of the Data Privacy Act.
Newly appointed DICT assistant secretary Felino Castro V said that while average data connection in the country is at 4 Mbps, the agency is already working on installing free Wi-Fi in public areas across the Philippines that would offer a data connection of at least 10 Mbps.
Felino O. Castro V was designated as assistant secretary for the National Broadband Plan Backbone and Free Wi-Fi Internet Access in Public Places by DICT secretary Gregorio Honasan through Department Order No. 008 signed last July 19, 2019.
The two projects are “IntElect” which is basically a fleet of electric tricycles and the “UP Bike Share” which is said to be “a fourth-generation bike-sharing system that is monitored through a wireless tracking sensor.”
