Local technology firm VoxpTech has announced it is releasing a line of “tech wearables” with a contact tracing app meant to be worn during under the “new normal”.
Instead of asking P11.7 billion to be spent on contact tracers, Sen. Panfilo Lacson is urging the Department of Health (DOH) to just copy simple yet effective apps deployed by the local governments of Baguio and Carmona, Cavite.
DOH chief epidemiologist Dr. John Wong claimed its contact-tracing rate is quite high because Singapore has contact-tracing efficiency of only about 50 percent.
The RC143 app allows contact tracing using the geo-location and sensory capabilities of smartphones. The app will also enable its users to get information on their likely levels of exposure to the virus.
Aside from preparing emergency relief for their constituents, local government units (LGUs) can now deploy a contact tracing system funded by the DOST called “TanodCovid”.
Singapore-headquartered Madison Technologies said it has launched CovCT, an independent contact tracing platform that aims to control the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
