A consumer group filed a case on Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to revoke the operating licenses of courier firm J&T and its franchise partners due to alleged unlawful business practices.
The DICT, which serves as the regulatory authority over courier and delivery operators in the country, relayed its expectations to industry players during a recent consultation meeting.
To cater to the growth of the courier and e-commerce business, the company said 2GO Express has invested in new technologies such as automated sorting machines in its hub facilities that can process more than 140,000 parcels a day.
A lawmaker has urged the DICT to toughen its supervision of courier service providers following the seizure of 12 kilos of from the regional warehouse of J&T Express in Cebu.
