To mark its silver anniversary, homegrown hygiene company Sanitary Care Products Asia (SCPA) has announced a tie-up with the Asian Institute of Management-Dado Banatao Incubator (AIM-DBI) for a program aimed at helping local startups.
Banatao comes from the small town of Iguig in Cagayan and made his name in Silicon Valley for inventing a host of technologies such as the graphics chipset that are still used in computers today.
The Superfund for Science and Engineering Scholarships is targeted to raise P5 billion in five years to encourage and enable the best and brightest Filipino youths to pursue studies and careers in science and engineering (S&E).
Silicon Valley-based technology icon Diosdado “Dado” Banatao said science and technology will allow the Philippines to raise its competitiveness and provide an avenue for scientists and engineers to translate and test their theoretical knowledge into actual working model.
