With the sector hit hard by Covid-19, the Department of Tourism (DOT) has launched an online training program for the country’s tourism stakeholders to stay relevant and learn to cope with the difficulties arising from the global pandemic and to facilitate transition to recovery.
Smart will be deploying strategically placed Google Stations, as well as QR-based interactive tourism markers, in Intramuros and Rizal Park.
As the first Google My Business (GMB) Trusted Verifier in the country, the DOT can instantly verify via the QR code method all local DOT-accredited
MSMEs, and make them discoverable on Search, Maps, and other Google products.
Grab Philippines will set up booths inside Intramuros where visitors can use 30 units of electronic scooters for free for a period of three months. After the pilot-test, the rentals would be made via a mobile application called GrabWheels.
