Pilipinas Shell launched on Thursday, July 7, its first high-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging service facility in the Philippines which can fully charge EVs as fast as 30 minutes. The cost of charging is P65 per minute.
The Philippines can now look forward to transitioning to sustainable transportation after RA 11697 otherwise known as the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act lapsed into law, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian said on Thursday, April 28.
Based on internal projections, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) undersecretary Rafaelita Aldaba said that by 2030, there would be 6.6 million EVs on local roads, half of which are targeted to be manufactured locally.

In line with the government?s push to create an EV ecosystem in the Philippines, Mitsubishi Motors PH donated a quick-charging facility to DTI to complement their two Mitsubishi EVs, the I-Miev and the Outlander.
