In the first nine months of the year, PLDT also built 1.29 million additional fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) ports ,bringing total FTTH capacity to 5.9 million.

The 1,800-kilometer subsea cable makes its final landing in Coron, Palawan on Sunday, October 31.

The pilot project implementation is scheduled on November-December 2018 to light up portions of the 6,154-kilometer dark fiber network of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and showcase high-speed internet to Government Network (GovNet) and Pipol Konek Free Wi-Fi in Public Places beneficiaries.

PLDT has started offering commercial fiber plans in El Nido, Palawan after firing up its initial fiber facilities in the area.
