More than eight in 10 Filipino adults encountered a scam attempt over the past year, with fraudsters increasingly using digital wallets, messaging apps, and social media to target victims, according to a new report by the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA).
Gogolook is the creator of Whoscall App, which has an integrated caller identification, can block calls and texts from suspected scammers, and also report scam numbers.
Scam calls and messages are becoming alarming issues in the Philippines, causing financial losses and distress for many, said Manwoo Joo, chief operating officer of Gogolook, which developed the Whoscall app.
