Lawmakers are calling on local telcos to find a way to speed up the slow Internet speed in the provinces with the opening for public schools fast approaching on Oct. 5.
Sen. Grace Poe has asked government regulators and telcos to reconcile their inconsistent data on the number of cell towers in order to have a clear basis for ramping up efforts to boost connectivity in the country.
Under the bill filed by Sen. Grace Poe, interoperability or the capacity of government altogether to operate online in a standardized manner will be implemented.
