For the first time in 19 years, the BPO sector is going to be number 2 to the Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) industry, which is projected to take up 450,000 square meters of office space by the end of 2019.
After seeing a few years of decline, the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry is expected to come back with a vengeance in 2019, so much so that it is expected to become a major driving force in office take-up next year, according to Leechiu Property Consultant (LPC).
Metro Manila office take-up rate is forecast in 2017 to register at an all-time high of 750,000. As of end-November, take-up was at 728,305 square meters.
