Recent undercover work by the telco’s cybersecurity operations team bared that the link found in newer text messages directs customers to a group chat in the messaging application WhatsApp.
Local telco group PLDT and Smart Communications has lauded the passage last Dec. 2 of House Bill 10388, which requires subdivisions and housing development projects to allocate an area for cell sites, at the House of Representatives on its third and final reading.

For subscribers to avail of the service, they have to pay a one-time fee of P36,000 for the connection kit and an installation fee of P6,000. Monthly subscription starts at P6,500 for 2Mbps speed.
Globe Telecom CEO Ernest Cu made the statement in response to the comment made by PLDT and Smart Communications chair Manny V. Pangilinan that the country’s overall Internet speed is being “pulled down” by other broadband providers.
PLDT-Smart said it already applied for membership at UK-based Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) to gain access to its database of Web pages linked to child porn.
