Reviewers of a regional travel website have ranked a hotel in Angeles City in Pampanga as the top hotel in the Philippines, edging out leading counterparts in Makati, Cebu, and Boracay.
Reviewers of Agoda.com selected Angeles Beach Club Hotel as the best in its class, beating three Shangri-la branded properties (Makati, Boracay, and Mactan) which also made it to the Top 12.
Angeles Beach Club Hotel was also earlier chosen by Agoda.com as one of the world?s most OTT (over-the-top) hotels in 2012.
The website said a property must at least have 100 customer reviews to qualify in the Top 12 screening.
?Free from PR embellishment, reviews that appear on Agoda.com are written by actual customers only after they have completed their stay, and as such are an accurate reflection of an average visit,? it said.
Agoda.com pointed out that when customers review a hotel, they are asked to rate their stay based on various criteria, including value for money, location, staff performance, cleanliness, comfort, and food. These scores are then averaged to get that customer?s overall rating of the hotel.
?To find the top-rated hotels for 2012 per country, Agoda.com took the sum of all customer ratings on a particular hotel and divided that by the number of reviews to get the hotel?s final ranking,? it said.
