A ?paperless job fair? ? said to be the first in the country — will be conducted at the Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena on April 29 and 30 as part of the provincial government?s summer offering for job seekers.
The paperless job fair involves the pre-registration of applicants? resume using an online site set up by the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in partnership with JobsDB Philippines.
?Applicants don?t need to bring resume. They can pre-register online. Only interviews will be done at the site,? Nicole Rudio, PESO manager said.
All interested applicants may register at the http://ph.jobsdb.com/ph and by clicking the Ilocos Norte Summer Job Fair 2014 banner.
?There?s no deadline for the registration, it is open until the main event. They can also register on site since we will be putting up computers for registration,? Rudio said.
Rudio, however, said applicants are encouraged to pre-register to speed up transaction and to avoid long queues inside the venue.
Up 60 employers are expected to join the biggest job fair in the province this summer season with job openings in sales, hotel and restaurant management, construction and skilled work.
?This is the province?s answer to fresh graduates who are seeking jobs. We bring them closer to various job opportunities locally, in Manila and overseas ,? Rudio said.
The job fair is part of the provincial government?s ?Task Force Trabaho? (TFT) which seeks to address unemployment in the province. — PIA-1
