Pointwest Technologies, winner of the Best Filipino-Owned Company of the Year in the 2014 International ICT Awards-Philippines, recently wrapped up its participation in two major international software conferences in the Asia Pacific region.
Executives from Pointwest recently returned from CeBIT Australia, the biggest IT and business conference of that continent. The company was part of the Philippine delegation to the event, which led by the Information Technology Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and the ICT Office of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
CeBIT Australia 2014 was held May 5-7 at the Sydney Olympic Park and had thousands of visitors, ranging from the top executives of leading firm to academics and specialists from many fields.
A second team of Pointwest executives also took part in the 23rd Software Development Expo (Sodec) in Japan which concluded May 16.
Sodec is the biggest software industry expo of Japan and is one of the highlights of the Japan IT Week, which is the country?s largest trade show featuring the latest IT technologies and solutions.
The Philippine trade delegation was bannered by the ICT Office of the DOST, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA),and the IBPAP.
The Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Japan, through commercial counselor Dita Angara Mathay, arranged the followed activities the visiting contingent: business-to-business meetings with Japanese companies, a Philippine software and ITO seminar at the Asean-Japan Center, and a courtesy call to Philippine Ambassador to Japan Manolo Lopez.
Pointwest?s participation as a member of the trade mission comes at an time when Japanese organizations are seeing strategic collaboration as a way to help them service not only their domestic market but also the rest of the world.
