Samsung Philippines made a brief demo of its new Galaxy Tab S to the local tech media on Friday, June 13, shortly after the tablet’s formal launch in New York City.
Available in 10.5-inch and 8.4-inch screens, Galaxy Tab S banks on its advanced Amoled (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) display technology that was first featured in the Galaxy Note.
In a preview held at the Shangri-La hotel in Makati City, the Korean consumer tech giant showed a wider range of rich and crisp colors in the Galaxy Tab S, promoting it as an advanced entertainment mobile device with premium content offerings from its more than 30 content partners.
Samsung also debuted on the Galaxy Tab S its own magazine service called “Papergarden,” an a platform for digital interactive magazines.
The Wi-Fi versions of the 10.5-inch and 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab S will be available in selected markets this coming July, priced at $499 and $399, respectively.
However, in the Philippines, Samsung will only launch the LTE version.
Available in Titanium Bronze or Dazzling White colors, both tablet sizes are powered by Exynos 5 Octa (1.9 GHz QuadCore ? 1.3 GHz Quadcore) or Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3 GHz Quadcore processors.
Among Galaxy Tab S’s unique features are mostly in its embedded Samsung screen technologies such as Adaptive Display, Pre-set Professional Modes, and the Fingerprint Scanner, which Samsung claims to be the first in tablets.
In terms of productivity, the Galaxy Tab S boasts of its phone functions, content-sharing connection, multi-user mode, and other multi-tasking features that enable a user to surf the Web, watch videos, share content, and make calls simultaneously.
