China-headquartered mobile brand Gionee has launched in the Philippines the Elife S5.5, which is touted as the world?s slimmest smartphone at 5.5mm thickness.
The Elife S5 is the first smartphone to be made of 98 percent metal and glass, which makes it look charmingly delicate despite its durable construction.
The Elife S5.5 is surrounded with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with Native Damage Resistance, said to be three times more durable compared to the second-generation version. Tests showed decreased visible scratches by 40 percent and increased compressive strength by 50 percent.
The Elife S5.5 sports an octa-core chipset at 1.7GHz, a processing power that were initially limited to bulky laptops. With such strength, the smartphone can play high definition movies while using high-end apps simultaneously without any lags.
Gionee also threw in the best capacity to density ratio in the Elife S5.5?s battery, which means it is slimmer but lasts longer than other smartphones.
The Elife S5.5 also boasts of two high resolution cameras: the primary one with 13 megapixels and the front camera with 5 megapixels. Even on auto-focus function, the primary camera capture images and videos with the sharpness and vibrancy close to those taken with a professional camera.
The front camera is equally good with its 95-degree ultra-wide angle. On top of that, the Elife S5.5 also has its own image and video editor for processing multimedia before sharing to the world.
At the launch of the smartphone at SM City North Edsa, Gionee also announced rising start Ellen Adarna as the company?s Philippine brand ambassador.
The Elife S5.5 is available in stores for P21,999.00.
