Saying Filipinos are slowly becoming more health-conscious, gadgets retailer Power Mac Center has officially introduced in the country the Misfit Shine personal activity tracker at its SM Aura Premier store.
The Misfit Shine tracker is distributed locally by Waido Marketing and Distribution but sold in Power Mac Center outlets across the country.
The oddly named device, which is manufactured in the US with aircraft-grade aluminum, has a retail price of P6,800.
Johann Tiu, sales manager at Waido Marketing and Distribution, said the ?Misfit? name was coined to provide a unique branding, while ?Shine? was taken since the device allows its users to shine metaphorically.
According to a new report from research firm IDC, wearables took a huge step forward over the past year and shipment volumes will exceed 19 million units in 2014, more than tripling last year?s sales.
