The PSRC survey, which was commissioned by PLDT, showed that based on the brand imagery question asked among respondents who were aware of the different ISP brands, PLDT Home DSL scored the highest among all ISPs for both signal strength and Internet speed.

PLDT Home, a unit of telecoms and multimedia firm PLDT, is behind residential broadband services like the Fibr that offers up to 100 Mbps to residential customers and LTE for the home Ultera which offers up to 10 Mbps speed.

The PSRC survey was conducted in key cities and towns across the country, covering 1,200 male and female decision-makers or influencers of telecommunication services for the household, aged 18 ? 60 years from ABCD homes.

The survey was conducted from April to May 2014.

Early this month, Globe Telecom also issued a statement claiming that it has the fastest wireless Internet service in the country, citing data from OpenSignal, which ?crowdsources? cell phone signal strength.

Philippine download statistics from OpenSignal showed that Globe?s downlink speed in 10 selected cities in the country averaged 2.40 Mbps, reportedly much faster than the average downlink speed of 1.21 Mbps and 0.84 Mbps of Smart Communications and Sun Cellular, respectively.

The cities in the report included Manila, Quezon, Caloocan, Davao, Cebu, General Santos, Taguig, Pasig, Antipolo, and Zamboanga.
