Meant for design enthusiasts and style buffs, the Vibe X2 boasts of a layered motif. The company said using robotic arms and clean rooms, three coats of paint were applied for each tone, totaling nine coatings per phone. To achieve a smooth finish, expert hand craftsmanship was employed as a final touch to further refine the layers.

Vibe X2’s arrival also made Lenovo as the first to ship a smartphone with the latest MediaTek MT6595 ?true? octa-core processor with 4G LTE. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

Dino Romano, country head for Lenovo Smartphones, said the company?s partnership with MediaTek delivers powerful performance in the stylish Vibe X2.

MediaTek’s CorePilot technology enables Vibe X2 to maximize the performance of its octa-core processor as this allows the MT6595M chip to deliver multi-tasking performance and sustained performance-per-watt, allowing users to enjoy multimedia features, fast 4G data transmission rates and long battery life.

On camera features, Vibe X2 has a 5MP wide angle front-camera with auto-shutter that is activated by the blink of an eye or a smile. Its 13MP auto-focus, rear-facing camera comes with a back-illuminated sensor and LED flash to produce sharp, brilliant shots.

Storage-wise, Vibe X2 comes with a 32GB of internal storage, providing users ample room to store their digital content.

Lenovo also bared two new click-on accessories, known as Vibe Xtensions: Vibe X2 Battery and Vibe X2 speaker. The Vibe Xtension1 cases add a fourth layer to the Vibe X2?s multi-layer design, immediately extending battery life and cranking up hi-fi sound.

Measuring only 5.1mm, the X2 battery does double duty by protecting the phone while also extending its battery life by nearly 75 percent.

?Combined with the all-new Vibe Xtensions which gives the Vibe X2 its fourth layer, these innovations will drive Lenovo?s leadership in the PC Plus era,? Romano said.

Available in white, gold, red and dark grey, Vibe X2 is priced at P18,999 and will start selling by mid-November at all Lenovo Mobile Exclusive Stores and authorized resellers of Open Communications, Lenovo?s exclusive smartphone distributor.
