The Philippine outsourcing industry is off to a good start this 2015 as the 2015 Tholons International Top 100 Outsourcing Destinations Report showed that the country has added a new city in the poll of the most competitive cities in the world for outsourcing.
Metro Clark barged in the magic circle for the first time, coming in at 98th place from last year?s 102nd spot. The entry of Metro Clark in top 100 increased the number of Philippine cities from seven in 2013 to eight in 2014.
Metro Manila maintained its position as the second-ranked city in the world in terms of outsourcing readiness right behind the Indian city of Bangalore.
Bustling Cebu City, meanwhile, kept its rank at 8th place. Metro Manila and Cebu were the only non-Indian cities in the top 8, with the 9th place going to Krakow (Poland) and the 10th spot occupied by Shanghai (China).
The booming city of Bacolod registered the biggest leap in the rankings, rising by seven notches from last year?s 93rd spot to 86th this 2014.
Iloilo City recovered lost ground as it climbed four rungs this year to 91st, after falling by two notches the previous year. Baguio City also advanced by four spots this year, jumping from 99th from 95th.
Davao City and Sta. Rosa, Laguna preserved their rankings at 69th and 82nd spots, respectively.
