Accenture beefs up e-learning facility in PH, steps up digital collaboration

A recent trip to the Philippines by Accenture?s global HR head Ellyn Shook highlighted the cutting-edge e-learning facility which the company is using to forge collaboration with other Accenture sites located in different parts of the country and the globe.

Together with Jesper Madsen, HR head for the Philippines at Accenture, Shook gave a tour of the e-learning facility at the Science Hub in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) where the company also conducts certification assessments for its employees.

The newly opened connected classrooms at the BGC and in Cebu feature rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology that allow virtual participants and SMEs to connect with each other through videoconferencing and data sharing.

The e-learning facility at the Science Hub in BGC, with its 32 training seats, is Accenture?s largest learning center, according to the outsourcing giant. Cebu, meanwhile, has a capacity of 24 training seats.

Globally, tech firm has 22 connected classrooms that take advantage of the the Accenture Connected Learning, a program aimed at helping Accenture employees enrich their professional skills and capabilities. By the end of fiscal year 2015, the company said it will have 50 ? and plans to grow it to more than 100 over the next several years.

Accenture also currently operates seven operational kiosks across the Metro Manila delivery center facilities, used by Accenture Technology and Accenture Operations (formerly Accenture BPO) for certification assessments.

Company executives said the digital and collaborative nature of Accenture?s learning approach has netted impressive results on a global level.

Accenture currently has more than 300 ?learning boards? and plans to increase this to more than 450 by September 2015. Content, it said, is abundant with more than 50,000 unique users across the globe and more than 175,000 hits to the site.

The company said its global portal offers more than 30,000 online courses, virtual classrooms and other key learning resources. Accenture?s workforce completed a total of 4.3 million courses during FY14 (period covering September 2013 to August 2014).

Also at the shirt briefing before the tour, Shook explained the Accenture Careers Marketplace, a global program that helps meet Accenture employees? quest for professional growth and new experiences within the company. It enables Accenture employees to find the available jobs and positions internally, whether it?s a new project assignment or a permanent position.

Accenture is the country’s second largest private employer with about 35,000 employees.
